Let's turn research into bread.
Research is a normal form of curiosity. Imagination is the highest form of research. There is no greater power to expand the mind than developing the ability to systematically and truly examine everything we observe in our lives. He who does not examine has anything to teach. The goal of all research is truth. Today’s common facts result from yesterday’s research. Research is a key tool not only for winning wars but also for conquering fear and undue discomfort. Research is also an art form used to create building blocks from obstacles.
Research: The art of bridging the gap between thought and action. Research is a way of taking risks designed to produce unpredictable results. Research must remain at the center of intellectual life, and our commitment to research must grow because our problems are growing, especially for countries on the growth ladder. The famous billionaire Bill Gates says, “I believe in research, and if they committed you to promoting innovation, give appropriate human resources and money to research.” It is important to look at the issues that researchers should keep in mind. This means that no research is ever complete. Research is only the beginning of a good work that opens up better paths and success. There is no
such thing as finished research. We understand that research, when done frequently and with quality, leads to another level.
Research teaches one to admit when one has made a mistake, but it is unwise to try with all one’s might to prevent an unhealthy plan, fearing that admitting a mistake is admitting weakness. Instead, it is important to understand that admitting mistakes in research is a sign of strength. Finally, let us not forget for a moment that the goal of research is to turn research into bread. Why? As the English author and journalist H.G. Wells (1866-1946) said, “Fools do research; wise people also turn research into bread. Since we are here, we should not only conduct problem-solving research, but also be determined to transform our research into projects that will benefit our society
ጠቢባን ምርምርን ጥቅም ላይ ያውላሉ፡፡
ምርምር መደበኛ የሆነ የማወቅ ጉጉት ነው። ምናብ ደግሞ በጣም ከፍተኛው የምርምር ዓይነት ነው፡፡ በህይወታችን የታዘብነውን ሁሉ ስልታዊ በሆነ መንገድ እና በእውነት የመመርመር ችሎታን የማዳበር ያህል አእምሮን ለማስፋት ምንም ሃይል የለም። ያልመረመረ ምንም የሚያስተምረው ነገር የለውም። የሁሉም ምርምር የመጨረሻ ግብ ደግሞ እውነት ነው፡፡ የዛሬዎቹ የተለመዱ እውነታዎች የትናንትና ምርምር ውጤቶች ናቸው፡፡
ምርምር ጦርነትን ለማሸነፍ ብቻ ሳይሆን ፍርሃትን እና ያልተገባ ምቾትን ድል ለመንሳት ቁልፍ መሳሪያም ነው። ምርምር የግንባታ ድንጋዮችን ከእንቅፋት ለመሥራት የሚያገለግል የጥበብ ስልትም ነው፡፡
ምርምር፡ በሃሳብ እና በተግባር መካከል ያለው ርቀት የመሙያ ጥበብ ነው። ምርምር ሊገመት የማይችል ውጤት ለማምጣት የታቀዱ አደጋዎችን የምንጋፈጥበት መንገድ ነው። ምርምር የአዕምሯዊ ህይወት ማዕከል ሆኖ መቀጠል አለበት እናም ለምርምር ያለን ቁርጠኝነት ማደግ አለበት ምክንያቱም ችግሮቻችን እያደጉ ናቸው፡፡
በሌላም በኩል ምርምር ሐያል ሲሆን አገር የእድገት መሰላሏን እንድትቆናጠጥ ስለሚያደርጋት ነው፡፡ ይህን በሚመለከት ታዋቂው ቢሊየነር ቢል ጌትስ “በምርምር አምናለሁ እናም ፈጠራን ለማሳደግ ቁርጠኛ ከሆንህ ለምርምር ተገቢውን የሰው ሀይልና ገንዘብ መስጠት ይገባል” የሚለን። በሌላ በኩል ተመራማሪዎች ልብ ሊሏቸው የሚገቡ ጉዳዮችን መመልከት አስፈላጊ ነው፡፡
ይህም ምንም ዓይነት ምርምር ፈጽሞ የተሟላ አለመሆኑን ነው፡፡ ምርምር አሁንም የተሻለ መንገድ እና ስኬት የሚከፍት የጥሩ ስራ መነሻ እንጅ ያለቀለት ምርምር የሚባል የለም፡፡ ምርምር በተደጋጋሚና በጥራት ሲሰራ ወደ ሌላ ከፍታ የሚመራ መሆኑን ልንረዳ ይገባል። ምርምር አንድ ሰው ስህተት መፈጸሙን አምኖ እንዲቀበል ያስተምራል እንጅ ስህተትን መቀበል መቻል ድክመትን መናዘዝ ነው ብሎ በመፍራት ጤናማ ያልሆነ እቅድን ለመከላከል በሙሉ ጉልበቱ መሞከር ብልህነት አይደለም፡፡ ይልቁንምበምርምር ስህተትን መቀበል የጥንካሬ ምልክት መሆኑን መረዳት ተገቢ ነው፡፡
በመጨረሻም የምርምር መደምደሚያ ግብ ምርምርን ወደ ዳቦነት መቀየር መሆኑን ለአፍታም ጊዜ አንዘንጋም ለምን? ካልን ደግሞ እንግሊዛዊው ደራሲና ጋዜጠኛ ኸርበርት ጆርጅ ዌልስ (1866-1946)፣ “ሞኞች ምርምር ያደርጋሉ”፡፡ ጠቢባን ደግሞ ምርምርን ጥቅም ላይ ያውላሉ፡፡ እያለን ስለሆነ የችግር ፈች ምርምር ስራዎችን መስራት ብቻ ሳይሆን ምርምሮቻችን ወደ ፕሮጀክትነት በመቀየር ማህበረሰባችን ተጠቃሚ ለማድረግ ቆርጠን ልንነሳ ይገባል፡፡
